Actors’ Center to host open call monologue auditions

DC-area actors will have the opportunity to simultaneously audition for dozens of directors and casting agents for two days in February. The 2022 Actors Center Monologue auditions will be held in person on Monday February 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silver Spring Black Box Theater and also broadcast live for listeners who cannot attend. Auditions will also be held virtually on Tuesday, February 8, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and streamed to all listeners.

During the auditions, the actors will have 90 seconds to perform a monologue of their choice from theater, film or television. Auditions will be recorded for the purpose of providing all actors with a copy of their audition after the event.

Up to 234 actors will be able to audition over the two days. Generous support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities enabled the Actors’ Center to expand its annual one-day hearing into a hybrid two-day event. The AC monologue auditions were last held in 2019.

Registration for the auditions opens Monday, January 10 for Actors’ Center members, who will receive a link to register for a time slot and to download their profile and curriculum vitae. Registrations will be open for two weeks. Listeners will also receive the registration link. In-person participation on February 7 will be limited to 25 listeners. All attendees at the in-person event will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination.

Registrations for non-members will open on Friday January 14th. If you are interested in auditioning but are not already a member of the Actors’ Center, follow this link to add to the non-member pre-registration email list. If you would like to register as an auditor but are not an AC Associate, follow this link to be added to the list of listeners.

You can also join the Actors Center before registration closes to be automatically added to the mailing list, get the first choice of audition slots and take advantage of the multiple CA audition preparation workshops, free for members ($ 30 for non-members ).
