Texas country music singer Casey Donahew will perform a free concert Thursday at Midland College’s Chaparral Center. His 2019 album “One Light Town” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country album sales chart. He released his new album in March called “Built Different”. Over the past 18 years, Donahew has gone from a favorite on the local Texas music scene to a national touring act consistently selling out venues across the country, according to a press release.

Jana Kramer will open for Donahew. Kramer is known for her role as Alex Dupre in “One Tree Hill.” Kramer started his musical career in 2012 and released two albums “Jana Kramer” and “Thirty One”. The albums featured seven singles charting on Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay, including top 10 hits “Why Ya Wanna” and “I Got the Boy”. She participated in season 23 of “Dancing with the Stars” finishing in fourth place.

The concert is presented by the Phyllis Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. Tickets are not required for general admission seating. Preferred seating is available for Friends of the Series and Distinguished Midland College Donors.
