Children’s sign language stage play for a shy deaf boy, he spends the night making a present for each of them – Story of the day

When little Oliver feels insecure about his deafness and hesitates to make friends, his classmates learn sign language to surprise him. He celebrates the best birthday of his life and spends an entire night baking them a heartwarming surprise.

Little Oliver was Mason and Rebecca’s miracle child. He was born safe and sound after Rebecca suffered a series of three miscarriages before her conception. It was obvious that the parents loved their little son at heart. He was the light of their life.

When Mason and Rebecca thought their world was now in bliss after Oliver’s arrival, a painful blow awaited them. Rebecca accidentally dropped a glass bowl during the boy’s second birthday celebrations. Oliver was right next to it, but he didn’t react or turn around at the sound of breaking glass. That freaked out Rebecca.

She cleaned up the mess and yelled at Mason, “Honey, you have to come quick. I think there’s something wrong with our son. He’s not reacting to the sound.”

Rebecca clapped her hands and called Oliver from behind. But the little boy never reacted to any sound. They immediately took him to an ENT specialist, and it was confirmed that Oliver was born deaf…

The diagnosis crushed Mason and Rebecca. They thought Oliver was normal. They had no idea he couldn’t hear their voices or their laughter. He chuckled and babbled, which sounded like the usual childish language infants use to communicate.

A few weeks later, Oliver received his first hearing aid. Rebecca and Mason were nervous. They didn’t want him to be afraid of hearing a sound for the first time. It would sound like strange noises in his head, they knew that. They were anxious, but it was their only hope.

Oliver took them to his bedroom and pulled a large box out from under his bed. Everyone was shocked.

After attaching the device in Oliver’s ear, they saw a strange reaction on his face, as if he was about to scream. Oliver turned in different directions, panicked.

When Rebecca cried and called, “Oliver, my baby, come here… come see mum,” he quickly turned around and started walking towards her, laughing. Oliver could now hear! Rebecca and Mason were delighted, but that was not all.

Three years passed and it was time to send Oliver to school. Rebecca and Mason have often described how nice it would be to be in a class full of friends and a teacher in front, singing rhymes.

“Is the teacher going to give me candy, mom?” he often asked.

“Yes, she’ll treat you to candy, but only if you promise to be a good boy and make lots of friends!”

“I promise!” he laughed and clapped her hand. Oliver imagined a fun first day at school, but he came home crying that day.

“What is it, darling? What happened, and how was your first day of school? Rebecca asked him.

“I don’t want to go to school…I have no friends,” cried the boy.

Rebecca and Mason assumed that Oliver was just having first day jitters, but they were wrong. Their son was suffering from something else, and they didn’t find out until a month later.

One day, Rebecca and Mason were called to the principal’s office regarding Oliver’s strange behavior in class.

They were told, “Mr. and Mrs. Hayes, your son Oliver never talks to anyone. He never plays with his classmates and his teacher, Miss Sophia, even tried to talk to him. He looks scared, but we don’t know what. scares him. Could you please find out? »

The headmaster’s revelation worries Rebecca and Mason. Later that day, the teacher met them and informed them that Oliver was afraid of himself. “Your son is afraid of being different and his classmates make fun of him because of his deafness. I spoke to him again and he told me that he was shy to communicate with anyone other than his parents.”

Rebecca and Mason were worried because they knew that was not a good sign for a little boy in the first year of school.

“Is he like that even at home?” Does he laugh and play? Sophia asked further.

Oliver’s parents told him that their son had an unusual interest that kept him busy and happy. “He spends long hours in his room making something. But he never lets us see what he hides in that box under his bed, and he starts crying if we try to touch him.”

“Mr. and Mrs. Hayes, we have to do something to help your son. It could affect him in the long run if we don’t help him get over his insecurities,” Sophia added.

Then Oliver’s parents and his teacher devised a plan and implemented it on his sixth birthday, which came three days later.

Oliver walked into his classroom and found it decorated with balloons and streamers. A large Happy Birthday banner hung above the board. He was stunned and sat down in his chair, wondering why the classroom was empty and silent.

Suddenly, all of her classmates walked inside. They were all wearing colorful birthday caps and smiling at him.

Oliver was surprised because he had never spoken to them before. It was strange when none of them made a sound. There was a grave silence, and all Oliver could hear was the ticking of the wall clock. Suddenly, soft, melodious music played in the background as the children gathered in groups and put on a little number.

Oliver’s eyes rolled up in tears as he watched them orchestrate a happy birthday song into gestures. They had learned sign language to surprise the birthday boy and make him feel included. The act ended with the children, and their teacher surrounded Oliver and gave him a flower each.

He was so touched that he decided to return their kindness and love. Oliver has invited his classmates to his house for a small party. He stayed up all night giving them cute little presents, and no one knew what he had put away in his toy box until the next day.

The following afternoon, Oliver returned home with his classmates. Rebecca and Mason were curious to know what he would do next. Oliver took them to his bedroom and pulled a large box out from under his bed. Everyone was shocked.

He opened the box and took out several small dolls. Since he had no friends, it turned out that he spent time making little clay figurines that looked like people. He considered the little toys his friends and spent time playing with them every day.

Rebecca and Mason were impressed with their little boy. “So that’s what you did in secret!” they cried.

Oliver chuckled and presented each classmate with a small figurine he had made. The kids gave him a big group hug, and Oliver was the happiest that day. He was no longer unsure of his disability and never thought he was different. He felt very loved and wanted.

Rebecca and Mason couldn’t help but shed tears of joy when they saw their little boy running around and laughing with all his friends.
