Ahead of its popular musicals returning to theaters this fall, Disney on Broadway presents Living in New Am – a benefit concert The Actors’ Fund and to celebrate the reopening of Broadway and 42n/a Historic New Amsterdam Street Theatre.

For four performances only, July 22-25, Broadway stars Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Michael James Scott (Aladdin), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King), and Josh Strickland (Tarzan) will perform a series of beloved Disney classics on Broadway like “Circle of Life” (from The Lion King), “An Entirely New World” (Aladdin) and “Drop it” (Frozen).

For tickets from Living in New Am (priced from $79.50 to $99.50), go in line.

It has already been announced that The Lion King will resume performances at the Minskoff Theater on Tuesday, September 14; Aladdin will follow on Tuesday, September 28 at New Amsterdam. To welcome the public back, Disney is offering a “double the magic» discount for theatergoers to buy tickets for both shows at a special price, starting at $149. Frozen, which played at the St. James Theater from 2018 to 2020, will not return to Broadway, but can be seen in theaters across the country on its National tour.

And Disney fans who can’t make it to the theater for this weekend’s celebration concert have something else to look forward to later this year. The All-New Original Movie from Walt Disney Animation Studios Encanto hits theaters on November 24. It tells the wonderful story of the Madrigal family, who live hidden in the mountains of Columbia, in a magical house in the enchanted place of the title.

Featuring the voice of Stephanie Beatriz as the funny and loving Mirabel – an ordinary fifteen-year-old teenager who struggles to find her place within the enchanted family – the soundtrack includes original songs in Spanish and English written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (hamilton; In the heights).
