The MMMO contest was created in 2009 by the organization’s founder, Calvin Hill, a veteran with 20 years of experience who served on active duty at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California.

The upcoming event celebrates the accomplishments of U.S. service members in the Mr. & Mrs. Military Organization Competition who are engaged in community service.

SAN DIEGO, CA, USA, Nov. 2, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Mr. & Ms. Military Organization (MMMO) is looking for a few good men – and women to enter its annual competition, which highlights the outstanding achievements of veterans and U.S. military service members who contribute to their communities. The competition will crown one man and one woman on February 24, 2023 at the Joan B. Kroc Theater in San Diego.

The 2023 – 2024 Mr. & Ms. Military Competition will be judged by an in-person audience and online viewers, who will determine the top male and female candidates who have experience in any branch of the U.S. military service. Each nominee will be judged in part on the creativity of their fundraising and outreach strategy for a nonprofit organization of their choice.

Entrants will be judged in five categories including: Creativity with fundraising and raising awareness for their nonprofit organization, Fitness using 60-second video submissions, Military knowledge, On-stage performance (singing, dancing, poetry, instruments, comedy, etc.), and evening dress.

The competition is open to veterans and active service members, and also considers submissions from nonprofit organizations. The winning candidates are not couples or spouses, they represent the leading man and woman in each category.

The MMMO contest was created in 2009 by the organization’s founder, Calvin Hill, a veteran with 20 years of experience who served on active duty at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California. Hill is also currently the Community Care Coordinator with the San Diego VA Health System. Hill is a strong veterans advocate and has a deep appreciation for the United States Armed Forces. He designed the contest to give more visibility to service men and women who deserve to be recognized for their efforts on and off the base.

“Most of the time, our service members are honored and recognized on a military base out of public view. I wanted to change that by giving veterans and active duty military members the spotlight they deserve with an extraordinary platform worthy of our service men and women – an opportunity they can be proud of for years to come,” Hill said.

“The military Mr. and Mrs. competition is not intended to be a traditional competition; we take pageantry to the next level and invite veterans and active service members to help us make this possible by showcasing and celebrating their contributions,” he added.

Registration for the Mr. and Mrs. Military Contest is currently ongoing and will run until January 22, 2023. The top 10 men and top 10 women chosen for the contest will be notified by January 31, 2023 and will be invited to attend the live event on February 24, 2023 at the Kroc Theater in San Diego.
