SEQUIM — Olympic Theater Arts will host the last weekend of “Bingo!” The Winning Musical” from tonight through Sunday and will hold auctions for a Renaissance Faire on Saturday.
Bingo! is about a group of hardcore bingo players who stop at nothing to miss their weekly game. Between phone calls, weird rituals, and fierce competition, love flowers and long-lost friends come together.
Olympic Theater Arts, at 414 N. Sequim Ave., expanded the stage 4 feet in the audience seating area to further connect viewers to the production.
Tickets are $24, students $15 and are available online at olympictheatrearts.org or by calling the box office between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Tonight’s show will be Pay What You Will. Admission is by donation.
Auditions for an August Renaissance Faire will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the theater.
The directors are looking for a variety of talented actors for walking characters, monologues, Shakespearean scenes, and a new interactive and immersive revival project specially designed to do so from OTA, according to a press release.
No accent is required for any role.
Rehearsals are scheduled between April and August. The rehearsal schedule is tentatively set between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, but is flexible depending on other cast members.
During the festival, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 13 and 14, Shakespeare’s characters will walk the grounds, each reciting a monologue several times and speaking in character.
Shakespeare’s most famous scenes will be told and presented as a “tour” of his career. The actors will play several roles.
A 15-20 minute comedy will tell the story of Macbeth. Preference is given to those who are available to rehearse on Thursday or Friday mornings and who have experience with (or at least are comfortable with) actors with intellectual disabilities.
