“There are ways to do this. Glenn can still play guitar. He plays it differently, but he can still play. He was out with us on Bloodstock recently. [and played] “Metal Gods”, “Breaking The Law” and “Living After Midnight”, I think it was. He can play. It will therefore be on this next album. Whatever job he does, it’s precious, really important.

“He is a member of Judas Priest. He is always there. He’s still an important part of this band and what this band stands for, especially in the writing sense. He’s made a massive contribution to the songs we have so far. And we will continue to write – we will continue to collect ideas. Because you can never stop writing. The timeline tells you, the label says, ‘We’d love a blah blah record,’ because it takes months of preparation, then months of promotion. And the clock is ticking.

“So, yeah he’s good, man. He’s still a fighter. He never lets anything stop him. He’s a great strength for people who live their lives actively and productively with Parkinson’s. So , he is still very [like] that song ‘No Surrender’ – a heavy metal hero. “

Halford also confirms that Judas Priest has “finished songs” but is not yet in full production.
