Signature’s Stephen Sondheim Tribute Concert Streaming Ends

Signature Theater is delighted to announce that special arrangements have been made to broadcast Everyone Rise: Signature remembers Stephen Sondheim free for a limited period of 72 hours.

Everyone Rise: Signature remembers Stephen Sondheim will have English subtitles and will stream on YouTube @sigtheatre for free from Friday, January 14 at 5 p.m. EST through Monday, January 17 at 5 p.m. EST.

Everyone Rise: Signature remembers Stephen Sondheim was filmed at a live concert on Monday, December 13, 2021, when audiences gathered at Signature’s MAX Theater to hear performers who have appeared in Signature’s past productions of Stephen Sondheim’s musicals sing some of their personal favorite songs from his catalog. Sixteen songs from 13 shows are included in the concert with known and lesser known pieces represented, such as ‘Marry Me a Little’, ‘Our Time’, ‘What More Do I Need’, ‘Sooner or Later’, ‘The Children will listen” and “Send the clowns”.

The concert, directed and designed by the artistic director of Signature Matthew Gardiner, characteristics Jon Kalbfleisch, who served as musical director for all 31 Signature productions of Sondheim’s shows, as musical director and pianist. The concert performers from Signature’s previous Sondheim productions are Evan Casey (killers, Sunday in the park with George), Natascia Diaz (Passion, West Side Story), Erin Driscoll (Society, In the woods, killers), James Gardiner (Society, We ride happily), Nicholas McDonough (Simply Sondheim), Christopher Müller (killers, Passion, Sweeney Todd), Katie Mariko Murray (Simply Sondheim, Passion, West Side Story), Tracy Lynn Olivera (killers, A little night music, Society), Nova Y. Payton (killers), Christopher Michael Richardson (killers), Maria Rizzo (A little night music, West Side Story, Gypsy), Awa Sal Secka (Simply Sondheim), Bobby Smith (killers, A little night music, Passion), Holly Twyford (A little night music), John Leslie Wolfe (Passion, West Side Story), and Rachel Zampelli (killers).

Bobby Smith, Awa Sal Secka, Christopher Michael Richardson, and Erin Driscoll are among the performers on “Everybody Rise: Signature Remembers Stephen Sondheim.”

The creative and production team included Lighting Design by Jonathan Maag, Sound design by Ryan Hickey, Production management by Kimberly J. Scott, Manager Kerry Epstein, Wardrobe by Moyenda Kulemeka and follow Spot operators L Bruce and Jared Loeb.

The concert was filmed by Chiet Productions with the cameramen Justin Chiet, James Gardiner, Jeremy Jacoby, and Natalie Ridgley. The sound editing is by Ryan Hickey and James Gardiner edited and color corrected the concert for the video.
