In the play, directed by Murat Karasu, who has appeared in numerous films and plays, including “Cumhuriyet” and “Abdülhamit Düşerken”, Uğur Çavuşoğlu plays the character of İlyas, Feray Darıcı plays the character of Asya, Cevat Duman plays the character of Cemşit and Dilek Bozkurt plays the character of Serap.

Speaking to state agency Anadolu about the play during rehearsals on the Çayyolu Cüneyt Gökçer stage in Ankara, Karasu said they were very happy to direct the play by famous Kyrgyz author Chingiz Aitmatov, who performed was translated into Turkish under the name “Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım”, and dramatized by Hülya Koper.

Recalling that the film, starring veteran artists Türkan Şoray and Kadir İnanır in the lead roles, had a great impact when it was released, Karasu said, “We have tried to develop a new language of directing by combining the effects of both the novel and the film. and of course using the theater technique. The public will decide our success. We have tried to tell the story beautifully, to convey it in a certain fiction. It is a job that touches many hearts and emphasizes human values.

Stating that it is risky to move a work to the theater stage after the cinema because the audience will try to look for its equivalents, Karasu said they are trying to find a way to increase the efficiency of the theater in an offer let a lasting impression on the public like that of a cinema.

Noting that Cahit Berkay’s film music is remembered and that Berkay’s music is also present on the stage of the theater, Karasu said that Kemal Günüç made new compositions for the work in order to increase its impact. on the theater stage and a new piece of theatrical music. emerged as a result of this.

Pointing out that the drama portrays an open period in ‘The Girl in the Red Headscarf,’ he said: “We are working on a broken love story that takes place in the east, near our geography. Karasu said that Çavuşoğlu, who plays the role of İlyas and Darıcı, brought the character of Asya to life and that they have done projects together before, while noting that the whole team is professional in their job.
