CHICAGO, June 3, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The Second City, the world leader in satirical comedy, is reopening its stage etc at Piper’s Alley to the public from tonight. The return of the theater etc with a new show, “Out of the House Party”, a mix of archival and improvised sketches featuring beloved and much missed actors, advances the progress of the reopening of Second City since the public returned to its Mainstage last month.
Resumption of face-to-face lessons May 3 in the Second City Training Center, and summer camps will be available in person and online for youth ages 7-18 from June 14. Tickets are on sale at secondcity.com. Guests will be able to purchase drinks with straws suitable for masks during performances.
Since reopening for live performances last month, the Mainstage show, “Happy to Be Here,” has always been sold out, although capacity limits increase with the relaxation of COVID-19 protocols. Tickets for both shows are available online until the end of the year. A traditional review should be underway by the end of the summer.

To quench the public’s thirst for comedy during the pandemic, The Second City moved its training center classes online and produced a weekly “Happy Hour” show on a streaming platform. Virtual options for training center courses and summer camps will continue to be offered.
