They will have to bring their game A.
It’s time for victory or homecoming for the popular North American Team Sentinels in the VCT North America Last Chance Qualifier.
After suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of The Guard in the quarter-finals of the upper bracket, Sentinels must now pull off a perfect run from the lower bracket in order to qualify for Valorant Champions Istanbul.
Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek and his teammates will next play Shopify Rebellion (formerly Luminosity) in their bid to stay alive in the tournament. Shopify just lost 0-2 to Cloud9, despite a close battle on both maps.
Sentinels will take on Shopify Rebellion in the VCT NA LCQ lower bracket
The last time Sentinels faced Shopify Rebellion was in the VCT NA Stage 2 Challengers group stage, when the latter was still playing under the Luminosity Gaming banner. The organization has finally announced its exit from competitive Valorant – just the first in a long series to do so in the wake of the uncertainty surrounding Franchise Points next year.
Their last encounter was at Shopify, with the 2021 Masters champions Reykjavik losing 2-1 to a side powered by an extinct performance from Brandon Michael “bdog” Sanders.
Tyson “TenZ” Ngo also had an outstanding performance, and the series at times felt like a battle to see which star on the team could perform better.
However, a lot has changed since then. The Sentinels added Shroud and Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro to their roster. At the same time, TenZ ditched their signature Jett in favor of Chamber, while the team also now has a dedicated Raze player in Zellsis, which they were missing.
For Shopify, this may be their last chance to play internationally for a while. The organization has already been kicked out of the franchise by Riot Games, leaving players’ futures up in the air.
Sentinels will get their chance to redeem themselves on August 7 at 7:00 GMT+8 | August 6, 4:00 PM PT | August 6, 23:00 GMT. Fans can listen to the match on the official Valorant Tic and Youtube canals.
